OldManRivers Endorses
As we all know, OldManRivers is pretty tune to the technological advances on the mainstream level. Now, some/most people are pretty netiliterate, (It's like illiterate, but with the internet) I've seen some new things. Advances and downfall in some. But what's been a big annoyance to OldManRivers is the complete bonbardment of ads. Ads, he doesn't care about. Things like junk mail, dating services and iPod contest. To quote the Zapitista movement, "Ya Basta!" (Enough)Although it is only BETA still (That means in production still for those who don't know), it has many services way better then hotmail, shawmail, yahoo or any other type of free e-mail service. doman on stocks and bussiness, it's not wonder their little invention called Gmail is so damn good. This E-mail serive has a wide range of uses and tools available to make e-mail so damn good.Then you might go and ask "Does Gmail have any ads?", and the anwser would be yes. But these ads are so unnoticable, inless you really pay attention and only appear when you compose an e-mail. I recieved an e-mail from Gmail a long time ago about them putting ads in someone soon and it's been months later. I found out they started putting ads in there in January. I just never noticed them.
Complete with a contact list. The conact lists can be added onto, fixed, and used much to the similar of Hotmail. It has the feature to group e-mails together for "Friends" or "Family". (or "Revolutionaries" and "Allies" if your OldManRivers). This tool makes it extremly easy to send and recieve e-mails.
Along with the ability for extencive contact lists, is that every time you send an e-mail, their e-mail can be added to your friends list. Once this is done, when typing in a couple letters for an e-mail, the whole e-mail is shown. All you need to do is press enter and BAM, the e-mail is entered.Never run out of space. Every day your storage space is growing and will continue to grow. Right now it's somewhere over 3 GB of space. MSN only allows 3MB (not GB) and Shawmail only allows 30MB (not GB).
You never have to delete e-mails because there is so much space. Although you can "Archive" any e-mail you want and it goes into "All Mail".Junk Mail protector. I have never seen an e-mail have such a good junk mail protector. On the rare occation I'll get a junk mail but you can easily click "
Report Junk" and it's gone for good. No more e-mails from that person.Sleek and nicer instant messaging. The Google Talk, designed for Gmail has a nice sleek design that is easy to use and crafty. You are not flooded with ads or emoticons. Nor are you running crazy trying to figure out who's name is with all the damn song lyrics. You can easy just change their name to whatever you like. (I changed my sisters Google Talk online name to "Poo Face"....lol). It works similar to MSN or Yahoo but is way easy in design. It's made for what it's made for, TALK. Although it doesn't have Web Cam cababilities, yet, it can do voice chat better then any other IM's I've used.
Sharing Gmail. The thing about gmail is that you cannot "sign up" for it. The only way you can get a gmail account is if someone "sends" you an invite to join gmail. The reason for "invites" is that it keeps junk mail creators away and only real person aware. Once you have a gmail, you can "pay it forward" with you invites and give them to your friends. Spread the magic that is GMAIL.Now, for you to get one. All you need to do is... send me an e-mail. If you would like an gmail, send an e-mail to onlineblogger@gmail.com telling that you want one and what you like about either "My Actions And Secrets" or "My Thoughts And Voice". I hope in some way this blog has made it more apparent how good Gmail is for people. I suggest you get one now and spread the word!

This poem was written for me a few years ago. It was when I was going throuhg probably the most hurt-full and suffering times of my life so far. I feel that it will be the worst ever. I was at point in my life when I wanted to die. I felt like dying because there was no reason to live. The only thing that kept me from going over the edge was my two younger sisters, my brother and my grandmother. I didn't want my younger siblings to have life without a brother and I couldn't imagine doing that to my grandmother whom I loved so much, and still do. At that point in my life had to be the biggest turn around for me where I learned so much about myself in a short ammount of time.
It brings to mind as to "why" I am still here. If things had kept on going I would of killed myself. But desinity brought me to a program some of you may know as "Choices". Leave all your judgments behing and your scepticism to hear what I am saying. The tools I learned there kept me off the edge and set me on a path that I wanted to walk, that now want to run. And when I want to, I will fly. It was at this point I became "OldManRivers" or at least, started on my path to becoming "OldMan". People look up to me and are in awe of me (or so I hear), but it's because of this. Not saying I wasn't an amazing boy before this, but I really owe alot of everything to Choices.
At the end of Choices - Teen Camp, I was leaving. My friend could not make it to see me in time so he sent this poem for me. I will always keep this poem and it stresses so many things for me. Most importantly about change. I changed so much while there, but everyone else back home was still the same. And for you to create change, you can't think you can do it where everyone wants to stay the same. I must now follow that, and create the change I want.

I've noticed how I never bring this up but since this is my actions and secrets I figure I should do it now, but mostly because I feel like it. It's been intresting latly because It's not that I feel alone. Or that I should be with someone. But I do feel as if I want someone. It's almost as if I want to experence it now, because I havn't experenced it right now. And when I think about it, experencing that, lust or love or whatever it ends up being...even fun. I think that I want it because I can grow from it. That it could create love and fun and life for me. That if I have that I might change into somthing I want to be. That I can't become that intill I do find tat someone, anyone. It's not that I want a "true love" or even "the love". Or even if it is love, because I doubt it's love that I am certain about looking for. But I am looking for it.
Then it makes me think about what would it be. What are they. Why did I want this person in the first place. There is no one I know that I really see myself as "growing" or "experencing" that I want to. Mostly because I like some qualities in some people, but there are some qualities about them I really truly don't like. Or maybe it's not the qualities I don't like, but the qualities they don't have. This actualy comes from people who are young... But that doesn't mean age, at all. I don't know anyone in my school, or my life that I see myself. I guess it comes down to the fact I'm looking for some as intellegent and ingenious as myself. Who would go to the concert and revolutionize and passionate and powerfull. But like I said, not someone, but anyone.
Maybe, OldManRivers, could test out letting down some requirments. Maybe I will see how that works. We'll see.

F%$@ D&A!!!
The complexity of how D&A on our communities seems to remain, although, like many of our people, believe "the more we don't talk about it, the more likely it will go away". Fortuna, this is not true because it gives me a way to vent my anger out, plus something productive to do. Now let's have a look at the history of alcohol.
At first contact, the foreigners gave red people alcoholic beverages. My people became aware of the dangers of this beverage as the effects of it became more apparent. As this happened, they decided it was not good for the people and threw it into the rivers. Now let's jump forward a bit. The bootleggers, also known as the Chinamen, would sell the whiskey to my people because it was illegal. By this time, alcohol had sneaked its way into the communities and already created the "addictions". At this time, my people were ready to do anything what so ever to get there "fix". This included and not limited to drinking laundry detergent, Drano, ammonia, and window cleaner. The law stating it was illegal for my people to drink made it hard and this my people died because of the harsh liquids they would consume anyways. Eventually, our leaders fought for the right to drink and our people stopped dying because of the hard bar drinks they had. Now let's jump even more forward. Our people have created a hereditary addiction of alcoholism that is, strongly enough, more apparent then the actual hereditary system of apprenticeship, one strong traditions not followed.
Now that our people have this problem of addiction and drinking, at some point it became socially acceptable. Initiatives were taken to "attack" this problem. None of which seem to be proving successfully. You have a problem? Then we're throwing you into the hypocritical smoke house to get hurt even more. No no no. Culture and support won't solve this problem; beating it out of you will!
Okay, so now our own people are doing residential schools on our own people? What the FUCK is up with that! The continuity of the awareness of this problem is becoming less and less serious because they think it will go away. Our own leaders are drenched in the ignorance of their own problem. Hereditary chief? Fuck that! I say hereditary addiction. One that, some of our so called "chiefs" think that throwing money at it will go away. You must be a chief is money is the always the answer to you.
Do you so called "Warriors" understand what is going on? This poison has and is destroying our people. Some say the Red People are weak and co-dependant. Well in a lot of ways it's true. And it's true by taking that drink. Just add the destruction. You hate the white man for the things he's done to our people. Take some responsibility and realize you can do something about it. You say warrior race? How are we a race of warrior men, when we beat the women? Can a man be a warrior when we have children without dads in their lives? Or how about women who get physically and sexual abused. Maybe when you’re drunk out of your mind you feel more like a warrior. Yeah, that must be it. To be the protector of our communities, you must destroy our communities by destroying our women and the young people. I say fuck that to the warrior race.
Now let's hit home for OldManRivers. I am tired of all this bullshit of putting up with. The way I "let it be okay to drink and drugs" is over. The way I let drug dealers set fine with me. The way it all works. I'm sick and tired of it. I've spoken out about things before and I am strongly voicing my opposition to that poison. No more will I stand for it!
So what say it you?
